This was my senior thesis at the American Conservatory Theater. Music has been as much of a driving force in my life as acting has, so when we were tasked with creating our own one-person shows, a merging of my two loves seemed obvious. What started out as a musical about a character somewhat like me quickly turned into a story about, well, me. After I wrote and recorded all the songs, Johnny Rice, a fantastic videographer and close friend, spent the day with me as we played along to the music and parsed through the "why" of it all. Part documentary, This Was Going To Be A Musical is my first (but definitely not last) foray into making concert film.
